Welcome to the Youth Ministry. Working in ministry with teenagers and families is a heartwarming and spectacular experience.  Our vision is to bring youth to spiritual maturity, help develop attitudes and responsibility, life skills, and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  In order for this to happen, we invite you to be apart of our cast and play a part in one of the biggest productions of all times.   Mt. Zion Youth In Action…Get into the Action!

Youth Bible Studies

• Teen Scene Bible Study - weekly with interactive lesson presentations using handouts, video, and drama.
• True Love Waits – A six-week program designed to help youth commit to sexual purity until marriage.

ACTIVITIES

• “Friday Night Live” with guest artist, pizza, ping pong & air hockey competitions, team basketball, and sports video game contest.
• “Family Basketball Night” NBA games at the Staples Center.
• “Youth Lock In” All night camp in the church main sanctuary.  
• Joint bible study with youth ministries at other churches.
• Vacation Bible School the week of August.
• The Teen & Family Super Forums – Teenagers and parents tackle items of concern in an open microphone setting.

OUTREACH

• Youth participated in the City of Ontario Positive Alternatives Fair passing out Mt. Zion promotional materials.

• Youth and the Ontario Police Department team up to promote community safety.

• School Campus Outreach sharing Gods word each week in the public schools.

• Street evangelism in our local community.

• Annual African Mission to Uganda.

Academics/
Tutorial

• Xtreme Summer Youth Program 4 weeks of daily educational field trips, students work on writing and public presentation skills. 

• College Preparation Workshops & College tours.  

• Students are constantly updated with the latest “How to get into College” and Scholarship information.

SPORTS

• Spring basketball league.  The S.T.L.’s (Sports Team Leaders) work year-round coaching our youth participating in football and track and field at a competitive level.

 

RETREATS

• Sacramento Teen Summit in July
• Summer Camps  in August.
• The California State Baptist “Youth & Young Adult Convention” in December
• California Southern Baptist Convention “Tsunami Student Conference” in December.

 

SWAT TEAM

• The S.W.A.T. Team (Students With A Testimony) an elite group of youth leaders trained for the purpose of evangelism and discipleship, and implementing youth programs.

 

ARTS & MEDIA

• “Praise Dance Team - Glorious the Next Generation”
• Keepin It Real monthly teen newsletter and journalism team.
